Location: Remote – This role is open to qualified candidates residing in the UK or the EU
The Senior Director of Business Development– EU / UK is responsible for identifying, qualifying and driving business development opportunities across all NATO countries including UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Greece, Finland, as well as Eastern European countries.
This role will: 1) provide strategic direction and leadership in identifying critical customer requirements; (2) develop and lead capture plans; (3) identify specific opportunities and maintain current SalesForce Pipeline; (4) identify local partners, consultants and resellers as necessary; (5) collaborate with Sales team; (6) participate in relevant trade shows; (7) support proposal efforts; and (8) work with product management, engineering, manufacturing and other functional areas to implement the opportunities.
Requirements:
- College degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related fields OR 15 years professional experience
- 10+ years International Capture Management/Business Development experience specifically related to military products
- 5+ years experience Capture Management/Business Development experience with governmental defense agencies, including Ministries of Defense of European nations.
- Experience with NATO NSPA or other European contracting portals
- Experience working with Significant Military Equipment (SME) and ITAR
- Export Experience, including European tax implication (VAT, customs, etc.)
- Experience with European tender processes, including common quality standards and labor standards
- English speaking, multilingual a plus
- Ability to travel as required
- Ability to manage multiple projects and problem solve
- Possesses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with customers, vendors, employees and managers at all levels within the compan
- Possesses strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office, Salesforce, SAP)
This position requires access to or use of export-controlled technical data or technology controlled by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Accordingly, applicants must be U.S. Persons or must be eligible to obtain the required export authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or U.S. Department of Commerce.
