Description
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- This position provides hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment while exposing the intern to procurement, supplier management, cost analysis, inventory management, reporting, and process improvement activities
- Supports the development and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and visual analytics tools used by Purchasing and Supply Chain leadership
- Gathers, organizes, and analyzes data to support supply chain improvement projects
- Assists with supplier benchmarking, market research, and sourcing activities for consumable products and indirect material
- Assists with maintaining reports, metrics, dashboards, and project documentation
- Assists with Excel reporting projects, including spend analysis, inventory management, supplier performance metrics, purchasing trends, and supply chain data analysis
- Supports supplier communications, quote requests, and follow-up activities as assigned
- Participates in process improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, standardization, documentation, and operational excellence
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams including Purchasing, Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Shipping, Receiving, and Accounting
- Performs other related duties, projects, and assignments as required
Education/Skills/Abilities
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration or a related field
- Interest in purchasing, procurement, supply chain management, manufacturing, operations, or business analytics
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and reporting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
