Note: The compensation range noted above represents the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries will be determined based on the candidate#s relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Valley Health Systems, Inc., the parent company of Holyoke Medical Center, provides a broad range of physician services in offices conveniently located throughout Western Massachusetts.#Holyoke Medical Center is an independent community hospital that has served the healthcare needs of the Pioneer Valley for over 125 years.# We continue to grow and address the needs of our community through quality and patient-centered care.# Our Neurodiagnostics#Practice is seeking an experienced Office Assistant. This individual will coordinate#and carry out all administrative functions for the office. Overview of responsibilities include but are not limited to: Handle inbound and outbound calls professionally, respectfully, and efficiently. Register patients while providing age-appropriate and developmentally appropriate assistance. Collect and verify complete and accurate patient demographic and insurance information. Demonstrate proficiency in scheduling appointments and diagnostic procedures across multiple departments. Pre-register appointments, maintain physician orders, and prepare required paperwork in a timely manner. Use order facilitator and insurance verification software effectively to prioritize and manage work. Obtain, track, and secure insurance pre-authorizations and prior authorizations before services are performed. Apply knowledge of medical terminology and standard medical office procedures to ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation. Communicate and document interactions with patients, providers, and staff according to established standards and guidelines. Support the Neurology department team, assist during high-volume situations, attend required meetings/in-services, and perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education:#High School Graduate or Equivalent Experience:#Minimum one year medical office experience with public contact and interaction, or equivalent educational training Special Aptitudes # Activities:#The ideal candidate demonstrates strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions accurately. This role requires strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and proficiency in computer use, typing, transcription, and filing. The ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently is essential, and bilingual skills in English and Spanish are preferred.
