Note: The compensation range noted above represents the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across#the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries will be determined based on the candidate#s relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. # THE PREOPERATIVE OPTIMIZATION ASSOCIATE IS AN ESSENTIAL ROLE THAT WILL BE WORKING CLOSELY WITH MANY ASPECTS OF THE SURGICAL TEAM IN A COORDINATED EFFORT TO ENSURE THAT PATIENTS ARE PREPARED FOR THEIR SURGICAL PROCEDURE IN THE FINAL DAYS LEADING UP TO THE SURGERY DATE. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.#To review all surgical charts for following day 2. To put together add on charts for following day. 3. To organize patient charts (paperwork arranged in correct area of chart). 4. To verify History and Physical completed and mentions need for procedure, medical clearance, specialty clearance (Cardiology/ pulmonary/ neurology/ etc.). 5. To verify that surgical orders are entered and that order matches H#amp;P, and surgical schedule 6. To print consents scanned in from office/generate consents not scanned. 8. Instruct surgical patients on medications that need to be held prior to procedure#(anticoagulant/glp1/diabetic meds). 9. To call surgical offices for consents/H#P if not present. 10. To call other medical offices to get supporting documentation for anesthesia needs. 11. To help determine the patients pre-procedure arrival time. 12. To make pre-operative calls to confirm patients have surgical instructions and time of arrival for#procedure; confirm transportation and help book hospital transport if needed. 13. To order needed documents when running low. 14. To answer incoming calls from medical offices and surgical schedulers. 15. To perform any and all additional responsibilities based upon the needs of the department, as determined by Nursing Leadership. # QUALIFICATIONS/JOB REQUISITES:### Education: Medical Assistance, Office Assistant Experience: Experience in a hospital or outpatient care setting using the electronic medical record (EMR).
