Position Summary
The Warehouse Team Leader is to improve operational efficiency goals by effectively and efficiently servicing valued customers through on time and accurate deliver of company's products while supervising assigned departments. Warehouse Team Leader reports to the Distribution Center Manager.
Position Responsibilities
- Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed and/or shipped.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code.
- Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets, bins, or shelves, or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.
- Work directly with packaging machinery to ensure proper breakdown bulk skus and prepare smaller quantities for customers per their requests.
- Prepare final shipments to customers by reading packaging slip, checking part numbers to ensure they are in tote, package shipping material within specifications given by customers.
- Handle packages from small envelopes to boxes ranging to 50 pounds.
- Work within ERP system to check in and evaluate products. Contact Supply Chain in event that improper, wrong, or missing material was not received.
- Perform cycle counting and make adjustment to records on inventory as directed.
- Perform safe operation of company's tow motors and must have valid forklift certification.
- Adjusting inventory and stocking levels within ERP system to maintain accurate inventory records for supply chain.
- Supervises at minimum 1 department.
- Communicate with other distribution centers within network to make sure effect stocking levels have been achieved.
- Handle and execute on problems from customer or sales force.
- Work on special projects as assigned.
Skills Required
- Ability to solve problems in situations where most problems have occurred before and their solutions are familiar, or at least where only little limited standardization exists.
- Ability to communicate detailed information, frequently involving business needs and wants.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Stand on feet for long periods of time.
- Read and Write in English
Training / Education Required
- A minimum of GED or High School Diploma
- Basic Safety Training Courses
- Forklift Training: Order Picker, Reach Truck, and Counterbalance Forklift
- SAP Training
- All departments cross-trained
- 1+ years of warehouse supervision experience
