Position Overview:

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of facility maintenance, equipment reliability, and preventative maintenance programs within a high-volume e-commerce fulfillment environment. This role provides strategic and hands-on leadership to ensure maximum equipment uptime, operational efficiency, and facility safety in a fast-paced startup operation.


The ideal candidate is a technically strong, solutions-oriented leader with direct experience supporting conveyors, sortation systems, and automated material handling equipment. This individual will build and lead a high-performing maintenance team while partnering closely with Operations and Safety to support productivity, throughput, and performance goals.

Monday–Friday, Day Shift (flexibility required to support operational needs)

Competitive Compensation:

Attractive annual salary of $92,000–$105,000 plus a performance-based bonus


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead and manage all facility and equipment maintenance operations to ensure minimal downtime and maximum operational efficiency.




  • Develop and execute preventative and predictive maintenance programs for conveyors, sortation systems, automated material handling equipment, scanners, and facility infrastructure.




  • Oversee troubleshooting and repair of conveyor systems, sorters, motors, drives, sensors, PLC-controlled systems, lift equipment, and other warehouse automation components.




  • Ensure optimal performance of high-speed sortation equipment and conveyor networks supporting high-volume fulfillment throughput.




  • Manage maintenance schedules, work orders, and CMMS systems to ensure timely and accurate reporting.




  • Partner with Operations leadership to proactively identify equipment risks, bottlenecks, and throughput constraints.




  • Lead root cause analysis efforts for mechanical and electrical failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.




  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and preventative maintenance best practices.




  • Manage vendor relationships and service contracts for specialized automation, conveyor, and facility systems.




  • Develop and mentor maintenance technicians to build a skilled, responsive, and accountable team capable of supporting automated fulfillment operations.




  • Monitor maintenance KPIs including downtime, mean time to repair (MTTR), mean time between failures (MTBF), response time, and preventative maintenance completion rates.




  • Support startup ramp-up efforts by establishing strong maintenance processes and equipment reliability standards.




  • Maintain a visible, floor-focused leadership presence to support real-time issue resolution and minimize operational disruption.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in maintenance within a high-volume distribution, 3PL, manufacturing, or automated fulfillment environment.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting and maintaining conveyor systems, sortation equipment, and automated material handling systems.

  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience, including motors, drives, sensors, and control systems.

  • Experience working with PLC-controlled systems and automated warehouse equipment.

  • Proven experience developing and executing preventative and predictive maintenance programs.

  • Experience leading root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions.

  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and workplace safety standards.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop maintenance teams in fast-paced, high-accountability environments.

  • Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to support operational and equipment needs.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical or Electrical Technology, or related field preferred.

  • Experience in high-volume e-commerce or automated fulfillment operations.

  • Experience supporting startup or rapidly scaling distribution facilities.

  • Certification in electrical, mechanical, or industrial maintenance disciplines preferred.

  • Experience with robotics, high-speed sortation systems, or advanced automation technologies.

  • Experience in a multi-client 3PL environment.
