Position Overview:
The successful Manager, Industrial Engineering candidate is one who thrives in the technical aspects of the position and enjoys customer interaction and project management to support one of our co-pack and warehousing customers. The successful candidate will bring experience in engineering solutions related to process improvement, continuous improvement, automation and operations excellence. The candidate will follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance when observed. In addition, the candidate will observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate.
Work Location: This is an on-site role in the Chicago Metro area with an opportunity to work from home when possible.
Work Schedule: First Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm
Work Travel: Up to 30 domestic travel.

Responsibilities:
- Assist startup of new facility with developing structure, SOPs, processes, layout, tracking methodologies and operations excellence.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to influence, motivate and inspire a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present ideas and solutions to stakeholders at various levels.
- Manage a team of 1-2 engineers and act as a mentor and drive engineering activities.
- Work closely with primary integrator, IT and advise on system adjustments while testing of system integration, controls, and software to ensure the functionality aligns with the design specifications.
- Collaborate closely with the Operations and R&D teams (aka Solution Design team) during the bid process to identify, design, price, and present offers to the prospective customers.
- Work closely with site operations and engineering team to develop ROI and roadmap for sustainable processes and long-term process and automation project pipeline.
- Identify automation partners, solutions, and technologies that best-fit ID Logistics’ vision for growth in key industries and with key customers.
- Work with network engineering team to define an continuous improvement roadmap to improve market competitiveness.
- Develop bid documentation, coordinate the bid process, and assist with vendor selection to procure equipment/services at the best value for the customer while ensuring all design specifications are achieved.
- Build tools to measure service levels and essential KPIs for the business.
- Drive tasks to completion by the timeline, design criteria, and budget.
- Determines the most effective means for an organization to use capital, equipment, energy, facilities, information, material, people, and other assets to make a product or service
- Plans utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency of operations
- Studies product or service and its requirements, using mathematical methods such as operations research, to meet those requirements and design manufacturing and information systems
- Reviews of functional statements, organization charts, and project information to determine functions and responsibilities of workers and work units and to identify areas of duplication
- Analyze storage solutions and material handling processes and recommend optimal strategies to maximize efficiency
- Improve warehouse flow by optimizing storage strategies and zoning
- Design and create warehouse layouts for new and existing facilities using AutoCAD
- Develop and integrate targeted solutions with customers and operations management
- Analyze existing processes and recommend opportunities for improvement
- Create workflow plans, conduct time studies, Determine productivity numbers
- Continually re-evaluate work process for productivity improvements
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Experience working in a operations, manufacturing environment or, automation provider/integrator and/or retailer/e-commerce company. Experience in working with and knowledge of continuous improvement projects.
- Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, or other related discipline from an accredited institution with minimum 6 years of experience OR
- Master's degree in industrial engineering, or other related discipline from an accredited institution with minimum 4 years of experience
- Should have advanced MS excel skills and basic knowledge of Power BI, basics of SQL.
- Should have working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Flexibility and willingness to support systems, as needed.
- Effective Verbal and Written Communication Skills
- Strong Problem-Solving Skills.
- Knowledge of WMS feature/functionality
