Description of the Position:


The Shipping Clerk position is a fast -paced environment. This position is essential to the operation’s success as it works closely with customers and on-site management to manage shipping and receiving as well as billing and invoicing. It requires organizational skills as well as the ability to multi- task in an efficient and timely manner.


 


Responsibilities:



  • Good organizational and attention-to-detail skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Provides customer service support to internal and external customers.

  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.

  • Set daily delivery appointments.

  • Processing deliveries.

  • Process completed loads.

  • Examine, sort, and route packages by hand or using machinery. This includes sorting by destination, delivery route, and special handling requirements. 

  • Load trailers & dispatch carriers.

  • Inspect trailers and packages for damage, incorrect addressing, or tampering

  • Ensure items are correctly labeled and follow the proper routes for delivery or further processing

  • Maintain records of shipments, trailer logs, and other related logistic activities 

  • Resolve any issues with shipping and/or receiving with internal staff

  • Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance when observed

  • Observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate

  • Other duties as assigned.


Schedule:                   Friday - Sunday 11AM-11:30PM 


 


Compensation:          $19.50  per hour + $1.50 shift differential


 


Status:                       Non-Exempt

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • 3 months' verifiable customer service experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding computer and data entry skills
  • Ability to effectively multi-task
  • Detail oriented
  • Basic math
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up 40-50 lbs.
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to multitask
  • Flexible schedule a must
  • Positive approach to assigned tasks
  •  Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
