What are we looking for?
The Engineer is responsible for independently performing testing and evaluation on a variety of products to the provisions of lubricant standards; writing reports; and communicating with clients. This position is also responsible for providing local expertise for friction testing, providing oversight on test stands, and review and approve test reports. This position will travel at least [5% of the time].
Shift/Schedule: M-F 8:00-4:30

What you'll do:
- Under the guidance of a more senior engineer, conduct evaluation of test procedures to determine compliance with applicable standard(s). To do this, Engineer must:
- Have at least a good understanding of engines and how they perform based on self-interest and experience and/or dedicated courses.
- Understand the scope of the project, identify, and ensure that test instruments and processes required to support the testing are prepared.
- Under scope of the project, identify and locate test instruments and equipment required for testing.
- Follow established test plans.
- Set up and operate EUT (equipment under test); perform and document simple repairs on EUT as needed.
- Perform testing of products in accordance with standards. Core tests include but are not limited to performing engine maintenance tracking and troubleshooting engine and/or instrumentation malfunctions. Engineering responsibilities will include performing tasks in support of engine testing programs, working with other staff on efficiency improvement initiatives, processing data and generating reports for clients, working with all levels of staff to successfully deliver programs, writing reports and communicating with clients.
- Communicate project status and test results to client, and management throughout testing. Provide on-going support to clients as needed.
- Compile data for final test results.
- Compile final report using established report shell. Submit report to reviewer for final approval.
- Within policy guidelines, identify, properly document, and recommend engineering judgments.
- Monitors tests to identify and reduce sources of variability in procedures using sound quality management practices.
- Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Basic knowledge of engines (gasoline or diesel) as well as their sub-systems is desired.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Prior project management experience is a plus.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to make technical decisions and engineering judgments independently within established parameters.
- Microsoft Office expertise

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:
- BSME degree preferred
- Demonstrated experience with ASTM lubricant test standards
