What are we looking for?
The Technician II- Electrical and Lighting Testing positionis responsible for providing technical support for engineering staff, including performing duties related to routine testing, maintenance, or clean-up. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
Shift/Schedule: 40 Hours per week, first shift, subject to change based on needs of the business.
Salary & Benefits Information
The base wage or salary range for this position is $20 - $26 per hour. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.

What you'll do:
- Prepare and set up test samples and test equipment.
- Operate equipment and perform testing in accordance with approved test plan.
- Obtain and record test data in accordance with standards.
- Perform calculation and analysis of test data.
- Maintain and troubleshoot equipment as needed.
- May make recommendations regarding the interpretation and applicability for specific test standards.
- May communicate with clients regarding general project inquiries, updates, etc.
- May assist with test plan creation and/or method development.
- May adapt procedures and equipment to meet department needs.
- May prepare project files for compliance with operating procedures.
- Assist with training entry level technicians.
- May draft test reports.
- Perform other work as required.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1.5 years of directly related experience.
- Be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines.
- Ability to use basic shop equipment and various hand tools.
- Ability to review, understand, and convey technical information in an effective manner
- Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions
- Must be detailed-oriented and able to effectively prioritize and organize workload, with efficient time management.
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal written and presentation formats.
- Must be customer focused and quality driven.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Travel up to 5% of the time between Cortland locations.
- A valid driver's license and reliable driving record for local travel.
- Applicants will be required to complete an I-9 to verify their eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Applicants must reside in and be able to legally work in the United States.
Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:
- Trade school certification or associate's degree in technical field.
- Intermediate knowledge with Microsoft Office.
- 3+ years of directly related experience.
