Trainer – Kentwood, MI - remote

What are we looking for?

The Trainer is responsible to train and educate new and existing customers, industry leaders and representatives, and interested parties by providing onsite and virtual prodcut or program training. This position will require travel at least 50% of the time.

What you'll do:

  • Travel to client locations, as well as host online sessions to deliver product or program training while demonstrating expertise in these core teaching skills:
    • Managing the classroom
    • Creating / delivering digestible content
    • Critical thinking and problem solving
    • Flexibility and adaptability to the audience's knowledge and learning needs
  • Submit training trip reports highlighting key observations during onsite visits with clients
  • Promptly and professionally respond to calls and emails from clients
  • Work with team to maintain customer facing training by assisting with documentation, team presentation decks, emails, and team training processes
  • Co-create content outlines, storyboards, A/V scripts, audio recordings, classroom course material, facilitator guides, and supporting resource documents
  • Help maintain existing and identify new Standard Operating Procedures
  • Stay current on industry trends, changes, and resources
  • Perform needs assessments of client training and provide timely feedback to team leadership

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, teaching, training, or equivalent experience
  • Project and time management skills in the learning and development space
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Proven working knowledge of adult learning theories
  • Strong project management and time management skills
  • Proven excellence in execution, innovation and creativity, strategic and critical thinking skills

  • Be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multitasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to effectively prioritize and organize workload, with efficient time management
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal, written, and presentation formats
  • Must possess the fundamental technical and administrative skills required to perform the job duties
  • Must be customer focused and quality driven
  • Ability to travel as business needs dictate (~50%)
  • This is a remote position; however, applicants must reside in and be able to legally work in the United States

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3+ years training experience (in-person or virtual classroom)
  • Well-versed in instructional technology and Microsoft Office
  • Automotive and/or Collision industry knowledge
  • Ability to maintain strong working relationships
  • Solid technical writing skills
