PURPOSE OF POSITION:
- Transport diagnostic samples from farms to designated diagnostic labs while following stringent bio-security regulations to ensure disease is not spread throughout the company.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Pre- Delivery
- The designated vehicle will be thoroughly washed the evening before going to the farms. This is without exception.
- Designated routes to farms will be determined by Health Services veterinarian or Technical Services Manager for biosecurity purposes.
- The delivery person will utilize proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at each site
- Farm staff will package, label, and place diagnostics in designated areas for pick up.
Deliveries
- Delivery person will have a designated route daily. This route may change periodically and is approved by a Health Services veterinarian or the Technical Operations Manager for biosecurity purposes.
- As the driver exits the vehicle, sit sideways in the seat and slip on plastic booties. Your feet must not touch the ground without booties. Utilize nitrile gloves when picking up samples from each sites.
- When returning to the vehicle, get in sitting sideways with feet outside of vehicle and remove booties turning them inside out. Booties that were worn for sample pickup must not touch your floor mat. Place used booties into garbage bag, take off gloves, and use hand sanitizer to clean hands.
- A cooler will be utilized in the vehicle to keep samples cool. This should be cleaned and disinfected at the end of each day.
- After samples have been delivered to the diagnostic laboratory, the delivery vehicle will be washed with overnight down time before arriving back to farms. Delivery vehicle needs to be filled with gas at the end of the day after all deliveries have been made.
- Vehicle will be washed at a local car wash.
- Wheel wells and inside of driver door must be washed thoroughly.
- Floor mats must be cleaned and disinfected.
- Delivery coolers will be removed, power washed and disinfected as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This position is performed indoors.
- The environment of this position will change daily pending weekly schedule.
- This position may require some tasks to be performed in extreme outside weather conditions.

- Ability to read and write.
- Ability to lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- The employee must be able to continuously repeat necessary movements such as bending, lifting and different hand movements as needed to complete tasks.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
- This is a part time position.
- Part time hours cannot exceed an average of 30 hours per week over the year's timeframe.
- The scheduling and hours of a part-time employee are determined based off employee availability along with farm/department needs.
- Additional availability may be required during staffing challenges.
- Weekend and holiday rotations are a requirement.
- Occasional evening hours and weekend work may be required as the job duties demand.
TRAVEL
- Local travel will be required for this position through the utilization of a company vehicle.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Bilingual not required
- Must possess a valid driver's license and good driving record.
