The Stepping Stones Group is seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher for a public-school position in Glendale, AZ! The Special Education Teacher will be part of our on-site Intensive Behavioral Students Services team and will serve to lead, inspire, and support adolescent students in an Elementary self-contained classroom. This position requires a valid Standard Professional Teaching Certificate in either Mild/Moderate Disabilities or Moderate/severe Disabilities, K-12 or a valid Alternative Teaching Certificate. 
Hourly Pay Range: $45-$50/hour ($68,000 - $75,600 annually) PLUS a $1,000 sign-on bonus
  What We're Looking For   Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field from an accredited institution  
  • Valid Standard Professional Teaching Certificate in either Mild/Moderate Disabilities or Moderate/severe Disabilities, K-12 or a valid Alternative Teaching Certificate - must be in good standing with the Arizona Department of Education (ADE)
  • Definitely a plus if you have experience working with children in a school setting, with a strong emphasis on supporting those with special needs  

What You'll Do

  • Support students with diverse learning and behavioral needs, adapting general education lessons to meet the individual needs of students  
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of students with identified special needs, ensuring their academic and developmental success
  • Monitor student progress, making data-driven adjustments of teaching methods and materials needed to keep students on a successful learning path  
  • Manage behaviors by implementing effective behavior support plans that foster positive student outcomes 
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, RBTs, therapists, support staff, and families to build an inclusive and supportive learning environment
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development initiatives to promote academic, social, and emotional growth
