Kamehameha Schools is looking for a Facility Attendant. This position is responsible for assisting with the maintenance and safety of the facility and is part time up to 40/hrs a week.
Job Summary
Assist in the daily operations of the building facility. Responsible for assisting with the maintenance and safety of the facility including opening and closing the multi-purpose and conference rooms during scheduled events and evening and weekend hours access. May help conduct activities in support of programs. Effectively exchanges information; receives or gives direction; and effectively works as part of a team. Attendant will be publicly visible, have high contact with the public, and will learn and enforce rules, regulations, and policies. Represents KS and supports the mission and vision of Ke Ali'i Pauahi.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provides facility access to community groups, collaborators, and other providers conducting educational activities and events. Supports internal and external requests for facility use by providing procedural information. Works closely with scheduling coordinator and supports coordinator by collecting necessary reports and documents for submission. Maintains the overall appearance of the conference and meeting rooms by providing a clean and organized appearance and demonstrates an operational understanding of all equipment and access tools. Ensures on time program starts and transitions between classes and programs by assisting with the logistics and facility preparations.
- Facilitates a warm, friendly, positive and memorable experience for all guests, visitors, participants, and learners. Greets, welcomes, and interacts politely and effectively. Responsible for greeting, directing, and acknowledging all visitors in a friendly, professional manner with Aloha, a welcoming spirit, and excellent customer service. Provides quick, responsive service and conveys the necessary information to result in a meaningful visit.
- Acquires and maintains historical and cultural knowledge of the region to deliver a positive and meaningful experience to all visitors.
- Participates in Emergency Operations planning, training, and implementation of procedures, practices, and policies.
Position Requirements
Minimum Qualifications - An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the requirements listed.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a directly related field, such as customer service.
- Strong customer service aptitude.
- Ability to interact and communicate with all visitors and employees in a positive and professional manner.
- Must have excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate appropriately verbally and using the English and Hawaiian language.
- Ability to comprehend instructions, correspondence, memos and other forms of verbal and written communication.
- Ability to effectively deal with all types of situations and resolve customer service concerns.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word and Excel).
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to consistently demonstrate spirit of aloha.
- Good working knowledge of KS operations, mission, goals and objectives.
- Experience in working with general public.
- Able to work days, evenings, and weekends.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently sit, perform desk based computer tasks and grasp light/fine manipulation.
- Occasionally stand/walk, write by hand, and lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
- Rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel, crawl, climb, reach/work about shoulder, grasp forcefully.
Working Conditions
- Work is conducted in an office environment but the purpose of the work may require work to be conducted in non-standard workplaces.
- Work is typically conducted Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. but evening and weekend hours may be required to meet goals and objectives.
