Position: A&P Technician
Location: Georgetown, SC
Shift: Day Shift, Monday thru Friday
Overtime: Occasionally
Pay: NEG
Travel: Up to 25%

  Description:

Kelly Engineering is looking for an A&P Technician for its Part 135 and pending Part 145 operation. The technician will perform heavy maintenance on turboprop, small to medium sized corporate, and commuter jets.

Work Activities:
  • Perform routine and non-routine maintenance

  • Follow all company and maintenance manual procedures

  • Maintain records of maintenance, repairs, inspections, and reports related to parts or services

  • Maintain a clean and neat work area

  • Assist with housekeeping duties as assigned

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to stand, lie, and kneel in awkward positions and spaces

  • Ability to work on scaffolding or ladders

  • Frequently lift and pull objects weighing up to 75 pounds

  • Manual dexterity and physical strength to operate tools and perform repairs

  • Visual acuity to inspect equipment and identify defects

  • Hearing ability to test sounds and assess aircraft function

Required Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Active Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification from the FAA

  • Minimum 5 years hands-on experience maintaining turboprop and light to medium jet aircraft with strong knowledge of mechanical and flight systems

  • Proficiency in one or more of the following:

  • Basic sheet metal repairs and alterations

  • Reading electrical prints and performing basic electrical troubleshooting

  • Positive attitude and team player; ability to train new or less experienced personnel

  • Proficient in advanced computerized maintenance tracking systems such as CAMP Systems, eBis, and FlightDocs

  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

    Preferred Education and Experience:
    • A.S. or B.S. degree in an Aviation program

    • Leadership experience

    • Background in avionics, including installation, troubleshooting, and repair of aircraft electronic systems

    • Experience with composite materials and knowledge of repair and fabrication techniques

    Other Requirements:
    • Must own basic hand tools for aircraft maintenance; specialized tools provided by company

    • Valid driver's license

    • Good communication skills
