Accounts Payable Accountant
Cleveland, OH - Onsite
$23.68/hour
Temporary to Potential Full Time
Monday-Friday 8:30AM-5:00PM

Kelly Services has partnered with an esteemed organization in higher education, seeking an Accounts Payable Accountant to join their team. The Accounts Payable Accountant will be responsible for performing all Accounts Payable functions and is the back-up for the AP manager. Apply today for immediate consideration!

Duties:

  • Manage fixed assets approvals and workflows
  • Maintain and prepare financial statements, journals, ledgers, and other complex financial reports
  • Open, close, and correct journal entries
  • Accounts payable reconciliations
  • Run daily pay cycles
  • Evaluate the adequacy of current reports and processes, and develop new reports or processes as needed
  • Financial oversight of various payables accounts, bank accounts, and credit card accounts
  • Analyze all financial activity, investigate questionable items or discrepancies, and maintain ongoing dialogue with management
  • Accountable for total budget and integrity of Procurement/Accounts Payable accounts
  • Act as custodian of Cash and Payable accounts
  • Analyze and gather data related to vendor business reviews
  • Verify and record actual versus budget, and audit all aspects of budgetary expenditure4s
  • Coordinate with others on internal audits of accounts payable services either in house of through services provided by an outside agency
  • Support various departmental projects such as annual 1099 filing.
  • Maintain highly confidential information on staff, students, and budgets

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • 3-5 years of related work experience
  • Proficiency in MS Office products – especially Word and Excel
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft highly desired
  • Experience in accounting, financial reporting, account reconciliation and general ledger entries required
  • Knowledge and practice of GAAP accounting especially with assets, SOX compliance, and accounts payable
