Are you a detail-oriented and organized professional with a passion for numbers? We're looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support our clients property management team. In this role, you'll play a vital part in our accounting operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, reconciliations, and more.
Please note: this is a one month contract with the opportunity of an extension or to become permanent if the right fit.
Responsibilites:
Accounts Payable Responsibilities:

  • Enter approved invoices into our accounting software (Yardi experience a plus!)
  • Follow up on missing purchase orders with Caretakers, Building Operators, and Property Managers
  • Reconcile vendor accounts and respond to vendor inquiries
  • Generate internal invoices for chargebacks, administration fees, tenant billing, and payroll
  • Distribute cheques internally and externally
  • Issue and track P.O. books as needed
Accounts Receivable Support:
  • Prepare deposit slips and transfer sheets
  • Enter incoming receipts into the accounting system
Bank Reconciliation Assistance:
  • Assist with monthly bank reconciliations
  • Follow up on outstanding cheques and uncleared deposits
Filing & Records Management:
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date accounting files
  • Create and label new files
  • Ensure accurate filing of paid/unpaid invoices
  • Assist with annual filing transition and storage
Other Duties:
  • Support AGM package preparation and other admin projects
  • Assist with payroll invoice circulation and paycheque distribution
  • Help with annual Broker Return documentation
  • Perform other accounting or admin tasks as required
What You Bring to the Role:
Technical & Software Skills:
  • Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Familiarity with Yardi or similar accounting/database software (an asset)
Accounting Knowledge:
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Knowledge of financial statements and their purposes
? Data Entry & Organizational Skills:
  • Strong data entry skills (40+ WPM)
  • Ability to manage a daytimer, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail with a talent for numerical and alphabetical filing
Customer Service & Communication:
  • Professional and calm demeanor when handling internal or external inquiries
  • Excellent phone and email communication skills
  • Team player with a pleasant and respectful attitude
