Job Title: Accounts Receivable Coordinator
Location: 100% On-Site – Elk Grove Village, IL

  • Hourly Rate: $22.00 – $26.00 (based on experience and qualifications)
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00a- 5:00p
  • Duration: Contract to hire
  Position Summary
The Accounting Specialist – Accounts Receivable will be responsible for managing all aspects of the accounts receivable process. This includes tracking customer payments, cash application, collections, account reconciliation, credit management, and month-end close activities. The role requires frequent communication with customers and third-party payment vendors. A successful candidate will possess excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and a proactive approach to providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and send invoices to customers.
  • Follow up on outstanding payments in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintain effective and cooperative relationships with customers and internal teams.
  • Resolve billing discrepancies and customer payment issues.
  • Monitor and report on AR aging and collection status.
  • Apply customer payments in accounting system and perform bank reconciliations.
  • Support the credit approval process for new customers and maintain the AR customer database.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, financial audits, and other projects as needed.
Skills & Competencies
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for customer and vendor interaction.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with AS400 system is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.
  • 1 ½ –4 + years of accounts receivable experience.
  • Experience in the air freight or logistics industry preferred, not required
