Today, Kelly Science is searching for an experienced Laboratory Technologist to join our team at a Fortune 500 Chemical Company in Baytown, TX for a long-term assignment


Laboratory Technologist

• Characterize samples using Gas Chromatography, Gas Chromatography with Mass Spectrometry, High Performance Liquid Chromatography, CHNS, TGA, UV, NMR, XRF
• Perform wet chemistry tests
• Perform solvency effectiveness testing on foulant materials and tear apart studies
• Interface with internal customers on daily basis
• Operate and maintain laboratory units, analytical testing equipment and troubleshoot as needed • Prepare and test samples by following detailed ASTM methods to provide high quality data
• Calculate, analyze and interpret data
• Efficiently manage work request backlog and turnaround time
• Participate in knowledge builds
• Perform methods development work as needed
• Solve analytical problems and leads efforts to introduce new technologies to support the business
• Perform internal calibrations and monitor SQC charts for quality compliance
• Manage sample inventory, handling, shipping, storage and disposal
• Order chemicals and supplies

• Bachelors or Associate's Degree in a Scientific or Technical discipline
• Capable of safe, reliable and independent laboratory work
• Ability to learn new techniques as needed
• Strong problem solving skills
• Devotion to accuracy and precision
 • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong working knowledge of Excel
• Excellent communications (written/oral) and interpersonal skills
