Assembly Worker - General Assembler (Contract-to-Hire)

Location: Madison Heights, MI
Pay Rate: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm (OT and some Saturdays required during peak months: March/April – November/December)

Job Overview:
Kelly Services is seeking motivated Assembly Workers - General Assemblers to join our client, a leader in branded environments and décor manufacturing since 1973. This role offers hands-on experience in fabricating unique décor and signage items in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review work orders and fabricate decorative signage and display items from start to finish (not assembly-line work).
• Inventory required components and coordinate with other departments to ensure all necessary parts and materials are available.
• Notify purchasing and management when raw materials and stock run low.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Communicate with supervisors or management if additional assistance is needed to meet deadlines.
• Overtime and Saturday shifts required during peak business months.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Ability to operate power drills, power nailers, staplers, and tape guns.
• Strong ability to read and follow written/oral instructions and shop drawings.
• Basic understanding of tape measure usage.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently on projects.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly.
• Stand for extended periods and perform repetitive movements.
• Wear safety glasses at all times in the shop and a respirator when required for certain tasks.
