Position Title: Associate Chemist
Location: Harrisburg, PA 17102
Employment Type: Temp to Hire
Work Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 1:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Chemist to join our fast-paced contract testing laboratory. In this role, you will assist with sample preparation and analysis for ICP-MS and ICP-OES testing, contributing to the accuracy and efficiency of laboratory operations. You will work closely with the Lead Chemist in the Prep Lab to ensure adherence to internal and safety protocols.

Required Qualifications
  • Academic experience in chemistry, analytical chemistry, or a related field.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and analyze samples using both internal laboratory and compendial methodologies.

  • Operate laboratory equipment such as analytical balances, micropipettes, and glassware with precision and accuracy.

  • Safely handle organic solvents, corrosive acids, bases, and other chemicals, ensuring compliance with laboratory safety protocols.

  • Maintain meticulous and accurate records following cGMP documentation practices.

  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

  • Follow all internal standards, policies, and procedures to maintain quality and safety.

Education and Experience
  • Associate degree in a physical science (e.g., Chemistry) or equivalent academic background.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting, through academia, internship, or work experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Analytical Chemistry and sample preparation in an ICP-MS laboratory.

  • Analytical Balances, Micropipettes, Microwave Digester, UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, TurboVap, Cryogrinder, Vortex/Shaker, Sonicator, Shaker, Incubator/Waterbath
