Position: Billing Specialist
Industry: Chemicals
Location: Onsite
Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week, flexible schedule with potential overtime at month-end)
Pay Rate: $24 hr
We are seeking a highly motivated Billing Specialist to support its growing team in Houston, Texas. This role will be responsible for accurate and timely invoicing, billing reconciliation, and working closely with the supply chain and field teams. this role will require a strong attention to detail and the ability to manage high billing volumes within a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:-
Generate and send invoices to clients in a timely and accurate manner.

Process related credit memos and adjustments.

Upload invoices into various e-invoicing portals; resolve related inquiries.

Contact freight companies to gather supporting documentation.

Work closely with supply chain and field personnel to collect electronic field tickets.

Perform reconciliations and minor accounting duties tied to billing activities.

Audit billing entries for accuracy; escalate discrepancies.

Log all billing documents and approvals in the JD Edwards ERP system.

Communicate with client AR contacts to ensure proper invoice delivery and timely payment.

Support internal audits, SOX compliance, and special projects as needed.

Maintain high standards of data integrity and operational efficiency.

Prepare client statements and respond to billing inquiries as needed.

High school diploma or GED
-
Minimum of 5 years of experience in billing or invoicing in a corporate environment

Familiar with JD Edwards or similar ERP systems

Experience working with bills of lading, chemical/equipment billing, tickets, and invoicing portals

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Experience with e-invoicing and knowledge of sales tax requirements preferred

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

Ability to work independently, manage time, and meet deadlines

Excellent communication and client service skills
