Job Title: Buyer
Location: Mahwah, NJ - Hybrid 
Pay Rate: $27.00 per hour


Position Overview:
We're looking for a detail-oriented Buyer to support the initiatives of our Purchasing department through tactical purchasing functions and cross-functional collaboration. This role requires strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-based environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Purchasing department initiatives through tactical purchasing functions.

  • Contribute to the development of purchasing and strategic plans.

  • Participate in cross-functional projects and process improvement initiatives.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in purchasing functions.

  • Assist team members to ensure customer needs are consistently met.

  • Manage tactical purchasing responsibilities with internal/external supply chain partners to maintain high customer service levels.

  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable to investigate and resolve supplier invoice discrepancies.

  • Generate requisitions, issue Purchase Orders, and ensure accurate ERP data maintenance.

  • Validate pricing accuracy prior to supplier buys and maintain up-to-date records.

  • Provide vendors with a rolling 12-month forecast.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Sourcing, AO, Engineering, Marketing, Customer Service, and Operations.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and ERP platforms (Oracle/SAP).

  • Strong verbal and written communication, customer service, and presentation skills.

  • Excellent time management, organizational, and detail orientation.

  • Demonstrated influence and negotiation skills with the ability to drive continuous improvement.

  • Strong quantitative and analytical abilities with the ability to clearly communicate financial concepts.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-based environment with high accountability for quality, compliance, and cost reduction.
