Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Compensation: $28 – $30 per hour
Duration: ~ 6 months

Position Overview:
The Buyer will be an integral part of the Procurement team, assisting with the management of supply chain operations to ensure continuous and timely product availability. This includes monitoring and resolving shortages, expediting orders, and collaborating with suppliers to maintain supply continuity, while supporting customer orders and manufacturing plans.

Key Responsibilities could include:

• Procurement & Purchasing: Manage the procurement process, including obtaining quotes, negotiating pricing, and placing orders to support production needs. Ensure timely order fulfillment and handle MRO purchasing.
• Supplier & Supply Chain Management: Evaluate and collaborate with suppliers to ensure quality, on-time deliveries, and cost-effective sourcing. Develop new supplier sources when needed.
• Inventory Management: Plan component purchases to maintain optimal inventory levels, manage returns, and assist in the MRB process for non-conforming materials.
• Receiving & Quality Assurance: Monitor the receipt of goods, working with Quality Assurance to ensure smooth product flow through QC inspection.
• Financial Management: Track and report key financial metrics related to purchasing, ensuring cost control and budget adherence.

Education & Experience

• An undergraduate degree or equivalent experience is required.
• 3-5 years (or more) of experience in a Buyer / Planner role, particularly in manufacturing settings for instrumentation, medical devices, or related industries.

Skills & Knowledge

• Experience with ERP systems, particularly for purchasing, materials management, and planning tools.
• Knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOM) structures and component specifications.
• Strong negotiation skills for securing competitive pricing with suppliers.
• Proficiency with purchase order entry, receiving transactions, and return-to-vendor processes.
• Understanding of inventory management principles, including inventory transactions and product flow.
• Familiarity with Accounts Payable processes and invoice handling.
• Experience working within quality systems such as ISO 13485, FDA cGMP/QSR regulations.
• Familiarity with cost analysis tools and financial metrics related to purchasing.

Additional Skills

• Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Effective collaboration and team-building capabilities.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with ERP-LX or similar system
• APICS certification is a plus.
