Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking a Chemical Laboratory Technician for a2-3 month contract opportunity with one of our clients, a leading manufacturer for the automotive industry. Pay rate: $ 24-25/hour

Workplace: Onsite in Seattle, WA

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm

Overview
The Laboratory provides technical support to the various facets of the company, including Manufacturing through quality control (QC) testing, Regulatory Affairs through finished product (FP) and raw material (RM) physical testing, and Product Development through sample blending and performance testing.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to company policy and maintains a professional working environment.
  • Performs In-Process QC testing of FP blends.
  • Collects and records data with integrity.
  • Uploads data to batch cards in company's enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
  • Performs general wet chemistry and bench testing of automotive chemical products, as outlined in ASTM and proprietary procedures
  • Prepares R&D samples to facilitate product development and reformulation, performs relevant physical and performance testing, recording and maintaining the data produced.
  • Reviews order fulfillment batch codes, ensuring data accuracy and that the lots have passed their QC testing.
  • Maintains laboratory inventory of consumables and raw materials, collaborating with Purchasing for procurement.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and functionality of the Laboratory
  • Interfaces with the various other departments and staff in a welcoming and professional manner
Qualifications
  • 1 – 3 years of laboratory experience
  • Adheres to laboratory safety principles
  • Collects and records data with accuracy and integrity
  • Able to lift 50lbs
  • Communicate technical information effectively
  • Maintains a professional and courteous relationship with coworkers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
Preferred
  • BA/BS in Chemistry, Engineering, or another relevant STEM field
  • Exhibits a basic understanding of automotive systems and mechanics
  • Understands basic principles of chemistry
  • Experience with data entry, ERP systems (BatchMaster a plus)
  • Proficient in Spanish language
