Position: Collections Analyst
Location: Willsonville, OR
Pay Rate: $30/hour and up (DOE)
Reports To: Global Collections Manager
Position Overview:
Twist Bioscience is seeking a Collections Analyst to manage timely collections across a portfolio of accounts while fostering positive customer relationships. The role is crucial in maximizing revenue, minimizing bad debt exposure, and supporting cross-functional initiatives. This position also assists the Accounts Receivable team with projects such as obtaining customer contact information and sales tax exemption certificates.
Key Responsibilities:

Monitor customer aging, identify overdue accounts, and follow collection policies.

Influence customers to adhere to payment terms and drive key performance metrics (Aging, Days to Pay, DSO).

Manage projects to collect AP contact information and sales tax exemption certificates; input data into supporting software.

Facilitate account meetings to resolve discrepancies or concerns.

Apply critical thinking to assess portfolios and recommend account strategies.

Communicate risks and account updates to leadership and cross-functional teams.

Prepare bad debt write-offs with supporting documentation for approval.

Generate weekly reports on past-due accounts for leadership visibility.

Participate in initiatives to improve collection results, DSO, and delinquency.

Build positive relationships with internal and external partners.

Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and collections management.

Track industry trends and account performance to proactively address risks.

Support a collaborative team environment built on mutual accountability and respect.
Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a relevant field, or 2–3 years of commercial collections experience.

SAP experience preferred.

Proven collection, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Strong written and verbal communication; ability to influence and articulate effectively.

Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, graphs, linked spreadsheets).

Demonstrated process improvement and innovative thinking skills.

Ability to manage difficult customer communications professionally.

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-directed.

Ability to adapt to change, handle uncertainty, and work effectively across teams.

Strong work ethic, integrity, and commitment to achieving business results.
