Description
Kelly Services is hiring a Cost Accountant/Controller for our client, a growing organization with operations in Canada and the U.S. This role is ideal for a Cost Accountant/Controller who enjoys working closely with operations, owning the numbers, and contributing to stronger financial processes in a dynamic, growing environment. This is a highly hands-on role with visibility across the business and the opportunity to grow into a broader accounting leadership position over time.
What You'll Do:
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports (ASPE / GAAP)
- Perform detailed cost accounting, variance analysis, and margin analysis
- Maintain and analyze inventory, standard costs, and cost allocations
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and working capital analysis
- Assist with cash flow reporting and financial planning
- Identify cost drivers and support operational decision-making
- Contribute to process improvements, system enhancements, and special projects
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial accuracy and controls
What We're Looking For:
- 3–7 years of hands-on cost accounting or financial management experience
- College or University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA designation required
- Experience with ASPE reporting
- Strong understanding of inventory, costing, and variance analysis
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (strong Excel skills required)
- Microsoft Dynamics Business Central experience is an asset
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working hands-on
- Strong problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset
- Effective communicator who can partner with operations and leadership
