Job Description:

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly knowledgeable Customs Brokerage Specialist to join our global logistics team.
  • This role is critical in ensuring the timely and compliant importation of automotive components and materials from international suppliers.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of U.S. Customs regulations, global trade compliance, and automotive industry logistics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • In House Customs filing : 7512, 214, ISF Filing and 7501
  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of customs clearance for imported goods.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and international trade laws.
  • Prepare and review import documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading.
  • Classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS).
  • Maintain accurate records of all import transactions and broker communications.
  • Liaise with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal departments to resolve clearance issues.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with Free Trade Agreements (e.g., USMCA), duty drawback programs, and other trade incentives.
  • Support internal audits and CBP inquiries.
  • Stay current on changes in trade regulations and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications:
  •  Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain Engineering, Logistics, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in customs brokerage or international logistics, preferably in the automotive sector.
  • Licensed U.S. Customs Broker (required) – issued by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
  • Strong knowledge of import regulations, HTS classification, valuation, and admissibility requirements.
  • Familiarity with ACE (Automated Commercial Environment) and other CBP systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (PLEX preferred).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Certifications & Training:
  • Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) – offered by the National Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association of America (NCBFAA).
  • Certified Export Specialist (CES) – for broader trade compliance knowledge.
  • Training in C-TPAT, Incoterms, and global trade compliance.
  • Experience with USMCA compliance and origin determination.
