Job Title: Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Planner
Position Summary:
The E&I Planner is responsible for developing detailed work plans for the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical and instrumentation equipment in a chemical plant environment. This role aims to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective maintenance activities while minimizing production interruptions and ensuring compliance with plant safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed job plans for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical and instrumentation equipment (motors, transformers, switchgear, DCS, PLCs, analyzers, transmitters, etc.).
- Review work requests, clarify scope, and collect all technical information required for effective planning.
- Coordinate with reliability, maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to prioritize maintenance activities based on equipment criticality and plant production schedules.
- Define labor, materials, tools, and external resources required for each work order, ensuring optimal allocation and scheduling.
- Prepare and update job plans, BOMs, and maintenance procedures in SAP
- Maintain accurate records of equipment history and maintenance documentation.
- Support outage and shutdown planning, including resource leveling, critical path identification, and job execution tracking.
- Liaise with vendors and contractors as needed for specialized services.
- Ensure compliance with plant safety policies, industry codes, and environmental regulations during planning and execution.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in E&I maintenance practices and reliability.
Qualifications:
- Technical degree or certification in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of E&I planning or electrical/instrumentation maintenance experience in a chemical, petrochemical, or industrial manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in SAP, Microsoft Office applications, and planning/scheduling tools.
- Strong understanding of electrical diagrams, instrumentation loop drawings, and maintenance best practices.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of applicable industry safety standards (OSHA, NEC, NFPA, etc.).
- Experience with turnaround and shutdown maintenance planning.
- Familiarity with lean maintenance and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) principles.
