Electrician (Carlisle, PA)
Our client, a leading supplier of building envelope solutions that effectively drive energy efficiency and sustainability in commercial and residential applications, is hiring an Electrician, Third Shift, for one of their main plants in Carlisle, Pa. Their products include high-performance waterproofing and moisture protection products, protective roofing underlayments, fully integrated liquid and sheet applied air/vapor barrier, sealants/primers and flashing systems, roof coatings and mastics, and spray polyurethane foam and coating systems for a wide variety of thermal protection applications and other premium polyurethane products.

Job Summary:
The Grade 4 Electrician plans, lays out, and performs all operations related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of complicated electrical equipment and circuitry. The person in this position installs, maintains, and repairs electric motors, digital drives, high voltage circuits, and electrical control panels. Work for this position involves utilizing knowledge of the electrical trade and the understanding of Plant operating principles to ensure that equipment functions properly and safely. 

Equipment & Data Used: PLC, PC's, battery hydrometers, multimeters, amp meters, hydraulic jacks, soldering irons, acetylene torches, AGV's, forklifts, drill presses, band saws, hydraulic presses, lathes, scissor lifts, company vehicles, tractors, conduit benders, cable pullers, core drills, ramsets, and plant production equipment, etc.

This role is a Direct Hire, third shift role. Hours will be Shift: 10:30 PM -  7:00 AM.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Repairing and maintaining electric motors and their accessory equipment.
Installing and repairing all types of electronic equipment including PLC programmers.
Maintaining and installing electrical services in buildings, including lighting and HVAC.
Installing new equipment by mounting fixtures, running conduit, pulling wire, and connecting wiring.
Troubleshooting electrical problems and breakdowns.
Performing machine changeovers for all plant processes and products.
Performing preventative maintenance on plant equipment.
Completing required paperwork.
Maintain the Boiler room.
Calibrate scales and equipment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Complete understanding of AC/DC current 100, 200, 480, and 2300V circuitry o Familiarity with PLC programming, HMI's, sensors, level controls, and AC/DC drives.
Pneumatic and hydraulic system operation.
General understanding of plant processes and equipment operations.
General understanding of electrical safety principles such as Lockout/Tagout and NFPA70E.
Reading and comprehension of maintenance manuals, motor nameplate information, work orders, preventative maintenance schedules, and identification of power disconnects, breakers, and valves.
Mathematical calculations including amperage, wattage, resistance, volt amps, calibration setups, and measuring materials.
Writing out work orders, preventative maintenance worksheets, machine operation reports, and daily work reports.
Entering comments and generating work orders electronically through the SAP CMMS system o Operating and interpreting data recorders.
Operating shop equipment o Welding & Soldering.
Operating and installing electrical measurement devices.
Completion of an accredited (8,000 hour) apprenticeship program, technical school program, or college degree in the electrical field.

All classifications of electricians will be required to attend, participate, and complete continuing education, including seminars and training sessions both in and out of the plant as directed and planned by their Shift Crew Leader or Maintenance supervisor, as a condition of employment in this position.
 
4+ years of electrical experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment including a familiarity with PLC programming, operation of digital drives, and setup, and maintenance of complicated electrical equipment.
