Kelly Project Services, a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is currently seeking an Emergency Safety & Security Field Technician for a long-term engagement at one of our Global clients in Orange, TX.  This role is a full-time, fully benefitted position.   As a Kelly Project Services employee you will be eligible for Medical, Dental, 401K and a variety of other benefits to choose from.   You'll also be eligible for paid time off, including holiday, vacation and sick/personal time.  All Kelly Project Services employees receive annual performance reviews. 

OVERVIEW
Key responsibilities include the protection of company assets by: supporting first responders with, fires, spills, hazardous materials incidents, medical emergencies, confined space and elevated rescues, and security incidents; operation of key emergency response equipment and systems, communication internally and externally including the activation of community notification systems; provide effective security services for the site; and investigating and documenting emergencies and security incidents.
Responsibilities:

  • Support the monitoring and maintenance of site fire protection systems, emergency response, & security equipment
  • Support implementation of site and facility emergency/security plan
  • Communicate as per the Operating Discipline during normal conditions and emergency conditions.
  • Use all relevant information systems to gather information on emergencies and communicates as required
  • Cross-train in ES&S Field Technician role for potential off-shift response call-out to support on-shift ES&S responders in a site emergency or response to mutual aid emergency.
  • Understand all relevant information systems to gather information on emergencies.
  • Assist with Safety Equipment audits as well as Facility Safety requirements.
  • Provide on-site support to first responders in the form of perimeter security, traffic and pedestrian control, etc.
  • Coordination of existing Personal Safety and management systems programs
  • Implementation of new or changing global Personal Safety standards and management systems and work processes. 
  • Supports Site broad compliance projects in accordance with assigned topics

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in emergency response.
  • Possess or willing to obtain EMT-B certification.
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and have the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.
  • A self-starter who can identify, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Must be willing and able to work in such environments wearing safety equipment, such as earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes. 
  • Must be willing and able to wear a respirator.
  • Must be willing and able to work in such environments with frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
  • Must be willing and able to work in such environments working in tight or closed-in spaces.
  • Must be willing and able to stand or walk for extended periods of time. 
  • Must have a current, valid US driver's license.

Physical Requirements:
Able to meet the following physical demands of the job, with our without reasonable accommodations:
  • Medically approved to respond to emergencies.
  • Work in stressful environments including but not limited to: confined spaces, low visibility, fully encapsulated PPE, and extreme close proximity to others.
  • Work at varying heights in an emergency capacity.
  • Able to carry 50lbs 100 feet.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment, including but not limited to respirator, SCBA, safety harness, etc.
  • Ability to work comfortably and safely at elevated heights. Candidates must be familiar with, or willing to undergo training in, the proper usage and maintenance of safety equipment to ensure safe movement and operations at heights.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • NFPA 1081 Course
  • Hazwoper
  • Confined space rescue training

Education:
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
