Walk Coordinator Position Summary The Walk Coordinator is an integral team member supporting the world's largest fundraiser, the Walk to End Alzheimer's®. This role assists with event planning, production, and administrative support for the two Walk events, working closely with volunteers to ensure safe, fun, and successful experiences. Key Responsibilities Walk Event Planning & Production

  • Collaborate with VP, Development and Walk Chair to create volunteer call lists and walk-related projects
  • Assist committee in reaching out to past participants to encourage registration
  • Support wraparound/walker stewardship events (kickoffs, registration weeks, contest weeks, etc.)
  • Manage Walk logistics (contracts, rentals, route planning, decor, catering, entertainment, transportation, equipment)
Event & Administrative Support
  • Prepare and report Walk data (biweekly reports, benchmarking, queries, call sheets)
  • Track sponsors and fulfill sponsorship benefits
  • Update and maintain Walk websites
  • Distribute marketing materials and manage walker incentives/supplies
  • Offer customer service for walker website and donation questions
  • Support Walk Committee meetings and related events
  • Train and supervise special event interns
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or 1-3 years nonprofit work experience
  • Understanding of sales, development, and fundraising events (preferred)
  • Professional experience in nonprofit fundraising or sales (preferred)
  • Experience working with volunteers (preferred)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Proficient with personal computers
  • Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, mail merges, etc.
  • Google Suite: Mail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Hangouts
  • Equipment: Multi-line/conference phone, copier, fax (preferred)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems independently
  • Self-motivated: anticipate needs, prioritize, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment; adaptable and resilient
  • Willingness to work evenings/weekends as needed
  • Valid driver's license and insurance; ability to operate a motor vehicle
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs, bend, and stoop
