Full Cycle/ Staff Accountant
Hybrid Work Schedule
Job Summary
An established non-profit in Washington DC is looking for an experienced Full Cycle Accountant, proficient in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. The candidate will manage invoice processing, collections, account reconciliations, and vendor payments, focusing on process improvement for overall efficiency. Strong analytical skills and a proven record in financial operations are essential.
This is a promotable position to Controller - CPA would be required for this
• This is a hybrid position 9am-5pm with occasional later hours
• One day a week in office (office is a 2-minute walk from the metro)
• Pay rate DOE to $95K
PTO, Sick Leave, Federal Holidays, full medical/dental/vision plus 401K
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable:
• Manage all aspects including vendor management, invoice processing, and payment processing.
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Maintain financial documentation and conduct annual preparation of 1099 forms.
• Develop and revise AP-related policies and procedures.
Accounts Receivable:
• Oversee creation, distribution, and tracking of invoices.
• Manage the collections process and implement strategies to increase cash flow.
• Perform account reconciliations and prepare AR aging reports.
Other Duties:
• Perform regular bank reconciliations and assist with organizational budgeting.
• Month and year end reporting
• Once a week in office for office management tasks.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
• 5+ years in Accounting or Finance, with a strong background in AR management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Bill.com, and QuickBooks Online.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of Government Accounting preferred.
• Non-Profit Accounting and grant accounting experience is a plus
