Job Title: Facilities Support Specialist
Location: Beaumont, TX
 

Job Summary

Join the Industrial Safety Training Council as a Facilities Support Specialist! You will play a key role in the maintenance and upkeep of ISTC properties, ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for staff, customers, and visitors. Duties include cleaning, repairing, and general custodial work, along with supporting conference center operations and occasional pick-ups/deliveries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean, disinfect, and sanitize common areas including lobbies, break rooms, classrooms, offices, and restrooms
  • Refill restroom supplies and replace wastebasket liners facility-wide
  • Sweep, vacuum, mop, wax, and polish floors
  • Dust and clean furniture, fixtures, doors, wall plates, windows, window coverings
  • Maintain sidewalks, parking lots, and smoking areas
  • Perform and document daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance
  • Review and follow all safety practices annually and initially
  • Identify and resolve maintenance issues promptly, recommending efficient solutions
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and accurate maintenance records
  • Comply with safety guidelines for ISCT and all regulatory agencies
  • Handle pick-ups and deliveries for supplies and equipment
  • Setup, stock, and clean up refreshments for meetings at the conference center
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret safety and maintenance documents
  • Routine report and correspondence completion skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
  • Basic math skills (figures, proportions, percentages, area, volume)
  • Ability to follow written/oral instructions and apply common sense
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Ability with hand/power tools, pressure washers, and general maintenance machinery
  • Manual labor for extended periods; able to lift/move 50 lbs regularly, 100+ lbs occasionally
  • Valid Texas Class C Driver's License with good driving record
Qualifications
  • Prior custodial or maintenance experience preferred
  • Ability to interact with staff, customers, and vendors and maintain confidentiality
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and arms, talk, hear, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet/humid conditions, and outside weather
  • Occasionally exposed to electrical risk and loud noise
  • Vision requirements: close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, focus adjustment
  • Must be comfortable in dynamic, sometimes crowded settings
