Kelly Services is seeking a Fiberglass Finisher for a company in Palmetto, FL 34221.

Pay rate: $18.00 an hour
1st Shift- Mon-Thursday | 6 am to 2pm

Key Responsibilities of a Fiberglass Finisher: 

  • Structural Repairs:
Addressing defects like air voids, cuts, cracks, and chips in fiberglass surfaces, as well as repairing gel coat. 
  • Cosmetic Repairs:
Polishing, buffing, and sanding fiberglass surfaces to achieve a smooth, high-quality finish. 
  • Gel Coat Application and Repair:
Applying and repairing gel coat, a durable, pigmented coating that protects fiberglass and provides a smooth, glossy surface. 
  • Tool Usage:
Using hand and power tools, such as sanders, buffers, and polishers, to achieve desired finishes. 
  • Quality Control:
Inspecting finished products for defects and ensuring they meet specified standards. 
  • Safety Compliance:
Following safety regulations and maintaining a clean and organized work area. 
Skills and Qualifications: 
  • Experience:
Many positions require experience in fiberglass repair or auto body repair. 
  • Technical Skills:
Proficiency in using various tools and techniques for sanding, polishing, and repairing fiberglass. 
  • Attention to Detail:
The ability to identify and address cosmetic imperfections and ensure high-quality finishes. 
  • Physical Stamina:
The ability to physically handle tools and equipment, and potentially climb in and out of boats. 
Industries Where Fiberglass Finishers Are Employed: 
  • Marine Industry: Repairing and finishing fiberglass boat hulls, decks, and parts. 
  • Manufacturing: Finishing fiberglass components for various products. 
  • Auto Body Repair: Repairing fiberglass parts on vehicles.
