Job Title: Financial Analyst
Duration: 6 Months
Work Schedule: 3 Days Onsite, 2 Days Remote
Pay Rate: $50/hour
Job Overview:
The Financial Analyst will play a key role in developing and managing complex financial models and reporting packages that support strategic business operations and initiatives. This position will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Sourcing, business unit leaders, senior leadership, and external supplier account teams. This role blends corporate finance (FP&A), supplier management, and strategic analysis. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for driving financial insights and supporting key business decisions through data analysis, forecasting, and financial modeling.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Analysis & Reporting:
    • Develop and manage complex financial models to support ongoing business operations and strategic initiatives.
    • Analyze and report key divisional and portfolio performance metrics, presenting findings from detailed to summary level.
    • Prepare monthly financial reports, variance analysis, and ensure the accuracy of financial data in Budget, Forecast, and Actuals.
    • Lead presentations for management at all levels, providing actionable insights and recommendations for decision-making.
  • Business Partnership & Strategy Development:
    • Collaborate with business leaders, department budget owners, and senior management to understand trends and drive well-informed decisions.
    • Advise leadership on budget to forecast, variance analysis, and cost-saving opportunities, ensuring the accuracy of financial forecasts and budgets.
  • Financial Modeling & Scenario Analysis:
    • Build and maintain complex financial models, supporting forecasting, budgeting, and scenario analysis to guide decision-making.
    • Lead cost-benefit analysis and perform sensitivity analysis to assess financial impacts of business strategies.
  • Collaboration & Process Improvement:
    • Work with internal teams (e.g., Project Management, Project Accounting, ITG) to ensure accurate and timely delivery of financial analysis, business cases, and project updates.
    • Identify risks and issues within financial processes and assist in implementing process improvements.
  • Cost Management & Forecasting:
    • Review and build new financial models related to cost structures, funding processes, and project costs (e.g., hardware, software, contract labor, core budgets).
    • Create and maintain quarterly IT capital forecasts and forecasts for IT core budgets.
    • Develop strategies for cost savings and evaluate the financial success of programs against defined metrics.
  • Supplier & Vendor Management:
    • Lead financial support for sourcing strategies, developing financial models and crafting recommendations to achieve business objectives.
    • Analyze supplier performance and costs, ensuring efficient financial operations related to contracts, licenses, and asset management.
  • Tool Development & Reporting Automation:
    • Develop automated reporting and forecasting tools to streamline financial analysis and enhance data utilization.
Required Qualifications:
  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, or related field.
    • 5+ years of business experience in corporate financial reporting, budgeting, or IT operational finance. Alternatively, 8+ years of relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
  • Skills & Knowledge:
    • Proficient in financial reporting tools and applications (e.g., Blue View, Center View, Workforce Tools, PeopleSoft, Ariba, ITAM, ISAM, Clarity, eBudget).
    • Strong customer service skills, including vendor and stakeholder relationship management.
    • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and Lotus Notes.
    • Strong analytical, presentation, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in financial modeling, particularly for IT, healthcare claims, or call centers.
  • Knowledge of strategic sourcing principles and IT hardware/software asset management, including license and maintenance costs.
  • Experience with business/financial models and forecasting.
  • Familiarity with IT cost structures and in-depth analysis of project costs (hardware, software, labor, etc.).
  • Understanding of contractual language and supplier governance.
