Job Title: Financial Analyst III
Location: Middletown, VA 
Duration: 9 Months
Hours/Week: 40
Pay Rate: $35.00 – $38.00
 

Overview:
We are seeking a highly qualified Financial Analyst III for our manufacturing facility in Middletown, VA. In this business professional role, you will lead key finance activities relating to manufacturing operations, driving process improvements and providing critical insights for operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead monthly close activities for manufacturing (inventory, cost of goods sold, variances, balance sheet reconciliations)
  • Review, validate, and maintain standard costs (BOM structure, labor routings, overhead rates)
  • Analyze manufacturing variances (purchase price, usage, labor, overhead, scrap, yield) and partner with operations to drive corrective actions
  • Support annual standard cost roll and periodic cost updates within SAP
  • Ensure integrity of inventory valuation; coordinate cycle and fixed asset counts
  • Analyze spending and explain variances versus AOP and forecast
  • Prepare weekly scrap and MUV reporting
  • Support site-level forecasts, AOP development, and business reviews
  • Drive continuous improvement, automation, and standardization of reporting processes
  • Maintain strong internal controls; ensure compliance with SOX, corporate policies, and statutory requirements
  • Support cross-functional and ad-hoc operational projects
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Minimum 4 years of finance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and manufacturing finance
  • Experience reviewing/analyzing BOM and production routings
  • Understanding of inventory accounting, absorption costing, and variance analysis
  • Advanced Excel skills required; SAP experience strongly preferred (Essbase, HFM a plus)
  • Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative, self-motivated, proactive, and solutions-oriented
  • Continuous improvement mindset with proven ability to identify process gaps and implement enhancements
  • Less than 5% domestic/international travel
