We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Human Resources Assistant to handle the company's leave claims (FMLA and Workman's Comp process). This is a contract role located in Schaumburg, offering an excellent salary range of $22-27 per hour. As a Human Resources Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our HR department and ensuring the smooth operation of various HR processes. This is a 100% onsite position, and the contract is expected to run through January. There is a possibility of this role transitioning into a contract-to-hire opportunity, providing long-term growth potential for the right candidate. - Shift: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Handle multi-state FMLA leave absences, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and company policies.
- Conduct investigations and follow-ups related to workers' compensation cases in over 45 states..
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with professionalism and discretion.
- Provide general administrative support to the HR department as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience in a similar Human Resources role is required
- Familiarity with Paylocity software is highly desired or similar system experience
- Knowledge of FMLA regulations and experience handling FMLA leave absences for multiple states is required
- Experience with workers' compensation investigations and multi-state workers' compensation is required
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work independently
