Formulation Chemist- Cosmetics | Temp to Hire | Mon-Fri | $30-37/hr |

Kelly Science and Clinical is hiring an Cosmetic Formulation Chemist in Carson, CA. The ideal candidate will have around five years of cosmetic formulating experience and a strong background in chemistry or other life sciences. This is a Temp to Hire role, Monday-Friday, paying $30-37/hr.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize computer skills to manage formulations.
• Ensure correct lab notebook documentation, including formulation, procedure, specifications, and stability data.
• Operate laboratory equipment such as pH meters, viscometers, and moisture analyzers, recording readings accurately.
• Communicate with raw material suppliers to gather necessary information.
• Attend seminars and stay current with new technology advancements.
• Supervise initial production batches and write manufacturing procedures for these batches.
• Write and maintain finished product specifications.
• Record and maintain stability data for formulations under evaluation, and report any issues promptly to the supervisor.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding formulation details.
• Supervise the Document Control Clerk and other R&D chemists/support staff as needed.
• Write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and working protocols.

Requirements:

• Approximately 5 years of cosmetic formulating experience.
• BS Degree in chemistry or other life sciences.
• Strong computer skills for managing formulations.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with suppliers and customers.
• Ability to attend seminars and keep up with new technologies.
• Experience in writing manufacturing procedures and product specifications.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
