Position: Front Desk Admin
Location: Rome, GA 30161
Employment Type: Full-time, Temp to Hire
Pay Rate: $19 - $21.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM

Start Date: This position can start immediately after the interview process.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and customer-focused Front Desk Clerk to join our manufacturing team. This individual will serve as the first point of contact for visitors and callers, performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks to support office operations and production coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist visitors, vendors, and drivers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Answer, screen, and route incoming phone calls; take messages as needed.
  • Perform general clerical duties, including filing, scanning, photocopying, data entry, and document preparation.
  • Use Microsoft Excel to maintain logs, generate reports, and track metrics such as attendance, shipments, or supply usage.
  • Create and format documents, flyers, memos, and presentations using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Schedule meetings, reserve conference rooms, and assist in coordinating team events and company functions.
  • Assist HR and management with internal communications, notices, bulletin boards, and calendars.
  • Maintain a clean and welcoming front desk and reception area.
  • Monitor and replenish office and break room supplies as needed.
  • Support shipping/receiving or production departments with clerical tasks as needed.
  • Manage front office activities, including handling incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveries.
  • Maintain visitor logs and issue badges in accordance with security protocols.
  • Assist the HR department with phone screening potential job applicants and scheduling interviews.
  • Update the applicant flow log and assist in planning and coordination of events and meetings.
  • Create orientation files for new hires and perform other tasks as assigned.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to organize and prioritize work effectively.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor in both in-person and virtual interactions.
  • Ability to handle high-tension or stressful situations with a helpful attitude.
  • Capability to complete tasks with minimal direction and assertively pursue resolutions to issues.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or administrative coursework is a plus.
  • 1-2 years of administrative or front desk experience (preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (with knowledge of formulas, sorting/filtering data, and basic charts), Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with office equipment such as copiers, scanners, and multi-line phones.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment near production areas.
  • Event planning or coordination experience is a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • Office setting within a manufacturing facility.
  • Occasional exposure to noise or activity from production areas.
  • Standard weekday schedule with potential for occasional overtime or early/late coverage during events or peak times.
