Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated General Maintenance Craftsperson to join our team. In this role, you will be the backbone of our facility's structural integrity, performing a wide range of carpentry tasks including constructing, maintaining, repairing, and modifying buildings throughout our grounds. This is a Direct hire Opportunity on 1st shift but availability on all shifts is required. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Carpentry & Construction: Perform high-quality carpentry tasks to maintain or modify facilities, including measuring, marking, and building wood structures.
  • Structural Repairs: Repair and replace floors, roofs, wall sidings, and doors; install partitions, walls, and drywall.
  • Fixtures & Finishes: Install cabinets, shelving, and essential hardware such as door handles, locks, hinges, and closures.
  • Specialized Maintenance: Perform concrete repairs, maintain overhead doors, and conduct minor membrane roof repairs.
  • Technical Execution: Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and schematics to determine required materials and methods.
  • Tool Operation: Safely operate a variety of hand and power tools (saws, drills, planers, mortising machines, etc.) to complete jobs according to specifications.
  • Safety First: Adhere to all safety precautions and operator instructions, including the consistent use of PPE (goggles, gloves, hearing protection).
  • Team Support: Perform other related duties as assigned and participate in cross-training to assist team members across departments.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience: At least 2 years of professional carpentry experience (or 3 years under a skilled carpenter); OR completion of a vocational/apprenticeship program in building trades.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical Savvy: Proficient with basic hand and power tools (drills, chisels, sanders, nail guns).
  • Problem Solving: Strong ability to troubleshoot issues and work with minimal supervision.
  • Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills for reporting and team coordination.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and reach for prolonged periods.
  • Lifting: Must be able to regularly lift/carry 50 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
  • Agility: Full range of motion required to operate tools and the balance necessary to work on scaffolding or roofs.
  • Environment: Must be comfortable working in various weather conditions (indoor/outdoor), around loud noise, dust, and fumes, and in high temperatures during summer months.
