Title: Growth Merchant Lead – Emerging Markets  
Location: Greenville, SC (must reside within 40 minutes; significant territory travel required) 
Classification: W2 under Staffing Supplier  
Contract Duration: March 31, 2026 – July 3, 2026 
Compensation: $29 per hour base + uncapped commission (On Target Earnings [OTE] $1,750/month; commission details will be explained during interview)

Position Overview 

A results-driven field sales team is seeking a Growth Merchant Lead to build and expand new business partnerships with local restaurants and food/beverage merchants in emerging and rural areas. This role is primarily focused on face-to-face, high-velocity sales cycles, territory growth, and relationship building. The position requires frequent regional travel, with all travel costs covered. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Conduct regular travel (primarily within 2 hours of Greenville, SC; some overnight trips and extended travel days as needed) to prospect, present, and close new merchant partnerships. 

  • Present value propositions to restaurant and small business owners, negotiating partnership agreements, and onboarding new accounts efficiently. 

  • Drive a swift, transactional sales process with a focus on achieving and exceeding targets. 

  • Coordinate work and strategy with a Regional Sales Manager; collaborate closely with the broader field sales team. 

  • Utilize a variety of provided sales tools and resources to maximize success and efficiency. 

  • Accurately document sales activities, travel, and outcomes per compliance and expense policies (travel covered by the employer). 

 

Qualifications 

  • At least 2 years of successful sales experience in a closing role—SMB, restaurant, or food/beverage sales strongly preferred. 

  • Demonstrated ability to meet or surpass new business quotas in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Willingness and ability to travel at least 50% of the time, including overnights as needed. 

  • Demonstrated effectiveness using both inside and outside sales strategies. 

  • Entrepreneurial, creative, and able to build and scale repeatable sales processes and playbooks. 

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
