Job Description: Health, Environmental, and Safety (HSE) Intern

Pay Rate: $30/hr

Position Overview:
The Health, Environmental, and Safety (HSE) Intern will support the HSE team in ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and company policies. This role offers hands-on experience in various aspects of HSE management, including risk assessments, safety audits, training, and environmental sustainability initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • EHS Compliance:

  • Assist the EHS team in ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports and documentation
  • Safety Audits and Inspections:

  • Participate in safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards
  • Aid in the development and implementation of corrective actions to mitigate risks
  • Risk Assessments:

  • Conduct risk assessments and job hazard analyses
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies
  • Training and Education:

  • Support the development and delivery of EHS training programs for employees
  • Maintain training records and track compliance
  • Incident Investigation:

  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses
  • Identify root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Documentation and Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date EHS documentation and records
  • Track hazardous waste manifests and prepare EHS reports and presentations
  • Continuous Improvement:

  • Participate in continuous improvement projects related to EHS processes and programs
  • Manage chemical inventory and provide suggestions for enhancing EHS performance and culture
  • Support safety raffles and incentives

    Qualifications:

    • Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field
    • Strong interest in EHS and a desire to learn and grow in the field
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Mail
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Previous internship or work experience in an EHS-related role
    • Knowledge of EHS regulations and standards
    • Familiarity with EHS management systems and tools

    Working Conditions:
    This position may require occasional travel to various company sites.
