Location: Bar Harbor & Ellsworth, ME (On-site: 3 days Bar Harbor, 2 days Ellsworth)

Pay Rate: $35–$40/hour
Job Description:
We're seeking a detail-oriented, collaborative Human Resources Generalist for a 2-month temporary assignment starting as soon as possible. In this key role, you'll serve as a central point of contact for employees and managers, supporting a wide range of HR functions and contributing to the efficiency and compliance of HR operations.

What You'll Do:

Provide timely support for employee and manager inquiries regarding HR policies, systems, and procedures

Assist with general employee relations issues, including investigations and documentation; escalate complex issues as needed

Collaborate with Centers of Excellence (COEs) on benefits, leave, compensation, and training-related questions

Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring alignment with internal procedures

Maintain compliance with employment laws and documentation requirements

Support HR projects such as documentation updates, event planning, and process improvements

Help maintain internal HR resources such as knowledgebase content and FAQs
What You Bring:
-
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field

3–5 years of HR generalist or shared services experience
-
PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred
-
Strong knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance

Experience with HRIS and case management tools

Excellent communication, organization, and service-oriented mindset

Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail

Experience with process improvement or HR documentation is a plus

Temporary assignment lasting approximately 2 months

3 days/week in Bar Harbor, ME

2 days/week in Ellsworth, ME

Compensation:
$35–$40 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
