Job Title: Human Resources Generalist (Temporary – 2 Months)
Location: Bar Harbor & Ellsworth, ME (On-site: 3 days Bar Harbor, 2 days Ellsworth)
Employment Type: Full-time | Contract
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Rate: $35–$40/hour

Job Description:
We're seeking a detail-oriented, collaborative Human Resources Generalist for a 2-month temporary assignment starting as soon as possible. In this key role, you'll serve as a central point of contact for employees and managers, supporting a wide range of HR functions and contributing to the efficiency and compliance of HR operations.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide timely support for employee and manager inquiries regarding HR policies, systems, and procedures

  • Assist with general employee relations issues, including investigations and documentation; escalate complex issues as needed

  • Collaborate with Centers of Excellence (COEs) on benefits, leave, compensation, and training-related questions

  • Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring alignment with internal procedures

  • Maintain compliance with employment laws and documentation requirements

  • Support HR projects such as documentation updates, event planning, and process improvements

  • Help maintain internal HR resources such as knowledgebase content and FAQs

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field

  • 3–5 years of HR generalist or shared services experience

  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance

  • Experience with HRIS and case management tools

  • Excellent communication, organization, and service-oriented mindset

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail

  • Experience with process improvement or HR documentation is a plus

Work Schedule & Location:

  • Temporary assignment lasting approximately 2 months

  • Start date: ASAP

  • On-site only:

    • 3 days/week in Bar Harbor, ME

    • 2 days/week in Ellsworth, ME

Compensation:
$35–$40 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
