Industrial Painter – $23–$25/hr
Location: Cleburne, TX
Schedule: Full-time
The Industrial Painter applies a wide range of liquid industrial coatings—including single, two, and three-coat systems—to carbon-steel, stainless-steel, and aluminum components in strict accordance with OEM and customer specifications. By properly washing, prepping, coating, and finishing each part, the Industrial Painter ensures every product meets demanding standards for appearance, corrosion resistance, and long-term durability.
Pay$23–$25 per hour, depending on experience
Education & Experience-
High school diploma or GED required

2+ years of industrial spray-painting experience preferred
-
Forklift experience a plus

Familiarity with epoxy and polyurethane coatings
-
Knowledge of mixing ratios, viscosity measuring tools, mil-thickness gauges, and surface-profile standards

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and safety data sheets (SDS)

Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
-
Basic math skills for measuring and proportioning paints and catalysts

Knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement principles is a plus

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods

Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs

Exposure to paint fumes, particulates, elevated temperatures in dry booths, and varying noise levels (PPE provided)

Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and coating specifications
-
Clean, grind, and chemically treat surfaces to remove rust, scale, oil, and weld spatter
-
Mask or plug threads and critical surfaces that must remain uncoated
-
Mix and adjust solvent-based and water-based primers and topcoats to required viscosity, ratios, and pot life
-
Set up and operate HVLP, conventional air, and air-assisted airless spray equipment

Apply primer, intermediate, and finish coats to meet film-build, coverage, and aesthetic requirements

Monitor flash, dry, and cure times; operate ambient or low-temperature dry booths/ovens
-
Inspect coatings using wet-film and dry-film gauges, adhesion tests, and visual standards

Rework parts as needed to meet specifications

Record lot numbers, VOC usage, film-build readings, and environmental conditions

Tag, palletize, or hang completed parts for next operations or shipping

Follow OSHA standards, PPE requirements, and hazard communication protocols
-
Perform daily spray-booth filtration checks and routine gun/pump cleaning
-
Conduct preventative maintenance on spray equipment
-
Participate in 5S, lean, and continuous-improvement initiatives
