Junior Analytical Chemist – Lynchburg, VA

Kelly Science and Clinical is currently recruiting for a qualified, contract Junior Analytical Chemist in the Lynchburg, VA area for one of our clients.

Summary:
The Junior Analytical Chemist will support analytical services in testing raw materials, and stability samples by coordinating, and reporting test results and analysis in compliance with the established standards and specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Perform testing according to SOPs, test methods and GMP requirements.
• Notify management of OOS test results immediately.
• Ensure documentation is complete and correct and all raw data maintained, and calculations are completed.
• Documentation review of laboratory work.
• Assist with Validation Activities as required.
• Prepare various solutions, and mobile phases. Perform a variety of testing of chemicals in compliance with established standards and specifications.
• Notify management of OOS test results immediately. Initiate laboratory investigation when required.
• Assist with document scanning and record retention.
• Perform lab internal Audits.
• Maintain laboratory equipment in good operating order.  Maintain lab supplies. Maintain work environment in a safe, clean, and organized manner.
• Complete raw material testing.
• Perform daily/ monthly equipment calibration as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Ensures regulatory and corporate compliance.
• Ensures department goals are aligned with business imperatives.
• Ensures performance goals are met.
• Ensures achievement of all unit Key Timelines.
• Ensures compliance with corporate standards (e.g., financial, code of business conduct) and adherence to company policies.
• Supports business processes and requirements.

Qualifications/Education/Skills:

• BS degree in Chemistry, or the equivalent, and/or a minimum of 1+ years of experience in a quality laboratory work.
• Knowledge of the cGMP regulations is essential.
• Able to understand and apply company SOPs.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work independently.
• Good communication skills are required

Pay: $25/hr

Hours: M-F, dayshift hours – may have flexibility on hours
