Kelly is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for a Direct Hire opportunity with a growing global manufacturing company in the Livonia, MI area! The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repair, installation, adjustment, and maintenance of industrial production machinery and equipment. Duties include routine maintenance, machinery relocation, and preventative actions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Diagnose malfunctions using testing devices and repair machinery with hand tools and precision instruments.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues based on test results and operator feedback.
- Set up and operate machine tools for repairs or fabrication of parts.
- Adjust device components using hand tools and levels.
- Interpret blueprints and manuals for machinery installation and operation.
- Safely operate overhead cranes and plan repair work using diagrams and schematics.
- Demonstrate knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Cut and weld metal for repairs and new equipment assembly.
- Clean and lubricate machinery components.
- Program computer-controlled machinery and record maintenance activities.
- Assemble and repair wiring, plumbing, and equipment.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans in collaboration with production departments.
- Maintain health and safety standards, including lockout/tagout procedures.
- Participate in the 5S program and comply with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001/45001 standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Qualifications:
- Preferred: 5 years of industrial maintenance experience with a technical degree or equivalent.
- Proficient in operating hand and power tools, and troubleshooting pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Ability to safely rig machinery and pass a high-low driver test.
- Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication abilities.
- Organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and work any assigned shift, including overtime.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 30 pounds and working overtime, including holidays and weekends.
Work Environment/Conditions:
- Exposure to a manufacturing plant requiring eye protection.
- Long periods of standing; composite/steel-toed shoes required.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds regularly.

- 1st shift opening! 6:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday
- Pay: $30 per hour
