2nd Shift Maintenance Technician

Are you a hands-on problem solver who takes pride in keeping equipment running at peak performance? We're looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our 2nd shift team! If you enjoy troubleshooting, working with industrial sewing equipment, and being a key part of a production team's success, this opportunity is for you.
Under the general direction of the Maintenance Manager, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our industrial sewing machines and production equipment operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. Your expertise will directly impact productivity, quality, and team success every day.
What You'll Do
As a Maintenance Technician, you will:
- Conduct machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
- Set up equipment and verify correct process settings per procedures and Tech Packs.
- Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs during production and scheduled maintenance during service periods.
- Prepare and set up machinery for production runs.
- Inspect sewing line machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders.
- Maintain detailed repair logs to track performance and reduce downtime.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on plant equipment according to schedule.
- Maintain parts and tool inventory in the shop.
- Communicate proactively with sewing operators to address equipment issues.
- Update log sheets for thread removal from the warehouse.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
- Follow all company quality standards and comply with OSHA safety regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What You Bring
We're seeking someone who is dependable, collaborative, and technically skilled.
Minimum Qualifications & Competencies:
- 3–5 years of related maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical knowledge of industrial processes and equipment.
- Experience with Pfaffs and High-lead sewing machines strongly desired.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred (verification required if applicable).
- Ability to work cooperatively within the department and across teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, compute rate/ratio/percent, and read a tape measure.
- Ability to read work orders and patterns.
- Strong problem-solving skills using structured methods to improve processes.
- Flexibility to work a 2nd shift schedule, including mandatory overtime as needed.
