Material Handler/Shipping and Receiving
Location: Taunton, MA
Position Type: Temp-to-Hire (TTH)
Pay Rate: $18.00 – $20.00/hour (Possibly higher for over 2 years of experience)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
A family-owned contract manufacturer is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 1 to 2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, and inventory management. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:Shipping and Receiving:
- Accurately pick and pack customer orders and internal work orders.
- Prepare orders for shipment to outside services.
- Package products for safe transportation in accordance with UPS and FedEx regulations.
- Perform inventory cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
Receiving:
- Print and review receiving lists for incoming goods.
- Verify counts and products against packing lists.
- Enter received products into the MRP system.
- Create and print product labels, including part number, description, revision, lot number, and quantity.
- Organize and store inventory in designated locations.
- Place finished products in appropriate containers and affix correct labels.
General:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Operate machinery safely and efficiently.
- 1 to 2 years of warehouse and/or shipping and receiving experience.
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
- Ability to identify priorities and work independently.
- Quick learner with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Computer literate.
- Experience with UPS Worldship required.
- Experience with reach trucks, Joey order pickers, pallet jacks, and shrink wrap machines is a plus.
