Mechanical Engineer (Collinsville, OK)
Our client in HRSG/ Heat Exchangers is growing, and is currently hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer, Direct Hire. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for product design and development of a new product line, role will support, as necessary, materials processing and manufacturing support to the production process.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform the analysis, development, design, and rating of the new firetube line (therefore, Steam Boiler experience is preferred)
Assist in the development of VEO standards, engineering formulas, skills, and compliance with applicable codes as they relate to the Firetube product line.
Coordinate efforts with the Production and Facilities Operations, Purchasing Manager, Operations Coordinator, Firetube Sales Managers and Aftermarket/Parts Sales.
Use computer-assisted engineering and design software (SolidWorks) to prepare design documents.
Provide design and analysis assistance for improvements to products.
Assist with the maintenance of QA / QC policies as requested.
Effective coordination and communication with other departments is essential (including drafting)
Timely completion of assignments is essential to avoid negatively impacting other departments.
Assist with the troubleshooting and resolve shop fabrication or job site problems as needed. In addition to fixing the immediate problem, this requires determining the cause of the problem and means to prevent or minimize the possibility of a reoccurrence of the same problem.
COMPETENCIES:
Minimum 3 years of boilers, pressure vessels, HRSG and Heat Exchangers equipment is mandatory.
Thorough experience and knowledge of combustion equipment to include boiler wind box burners, gun type burners, scroll burners and related equipment.
An Engineering Degree is required.
Previous experience with NFPA, ASME Section I boilers or Section VIII pressure vessels is required.
Knowledge of ISO 9000 a plus.
Experience with pressure combustion equipment and ancillary equipment.
Thorough knowledge of AutoCAD Computer Aided Drafting software, including SolidWorks strongly preferred.
